We All Need Just a Little Bit More Soooul

10.02.2010

Well, it’s a rainy, rainy day, but I’m alright with it. I’ve got a bowl of hot chicken noodle soup in front of me, so I’m pretty content. Murry’s birthday party is in about an hour, and I hope that she has a fun day. I still can’t get over that she’s eleven! Can you imagine when I have my own kids? I’m going to be a nervous wreck every time they get a year older.

I kind of just want to curl up in bed and finish watching Family Jewels. I know that probably sound pathetic, but there’s something about rainy days that just drains me. Not to mention that Mom and I had a hard day of shopping all day. ;] We stopped at the Halloween store earlier, so if anyone feels generous and wants to buy me the bubble fog machine, I would be greatly appreciative.

I’m also getting more and more stoked about my birthday trip to New Orleans. I was watching “America’s Best” on The Food Network, and the number one dessert in America was Brennan’s Restaurant’s “Bananas Foster” in New Orleans. Naturally, being the cooking/food addict that I am, I had this bright idea that we had to try some while we were there. However, I looked up the place online, and this is what I found….
Is it beautiful? Yes. Is it way out of our price range? OF COURSE! Excuse me while I buy a prom dress just to fit the evening attire. ;] Needless to say, I don’t think that I’ll be beginning a relationship with “Bananas Foster” while I’m there, but just for fun, I’ll post a picture of how they make this little plate of heaven.

Amazing looking, right? I suppose I’ll never know. Haha. Anyway, my new goal is to eat some shrimp creole and beignets, and locate some good jazz music. I feel like that’s a legit plan.

xoxoxo
