We are in the middle of block leave, which pretty much explains my absence. Between family Christmases, a wedding, visiting friends, and going back and forth between our parents’ houses, I haven’t had much time to sit down and blog. I had a small amount of leisure time the other day and decided to nap for about two hours. It was absolutely marvelous. I’m running on fumes, but we’ve been having a great time catching up. Yesterday I had lunch with my dear friend, Heather, and even got to see The Perks of Being a Wallflower…FINALLY! I have wanted to watch that movie for ever, and the story was just as I remember, after reading the book five years ago.
Speaking of reading books, my progress with Les Mis has been atrocious. For the same reason that I haven’t been blogging, I also haven’t been reading much. Ugh. I’m pretty disappointed, but I think I’ll have to bite the bullet and go see the movie without finishing the book first. As you probably know, this is one of my least favorite things to do. I’ll finish it eventually, but I want to catch the film while it’s still in the theaters. I guess the holidays weren’t the most opportune moments to start reading a book the size of my head.
Today we have another Christmas. We’re celebrating with my momma’s side of the family, and then I’ll have given out the last of our gifts. Hopefully the kiddos enjoy them. Now that the holidays are over, I’m counting down the days until spring. What is this nonsense weather? I haven’t been around enough for the cold seasons to do much complaining, but I promise that I’m catching up now. My knuckles and face are dry, my toes constantly freezing, and my hair consistently messy from the chilly wind. Needless to say, winter is not exactly my favorite time of the year, but I’m dealing with it one day of whining at a time.
If ya’ll would like to catch up with more of my writing, I have a couple new Sweet Lemon posts up! You can read about the holidays without our families right here and some traveling tips here. Things should start calming down soon, so I’ll be back to blogging as usual. Hope everyone is doing well and had a safe and Happy New Year! Sorry I missed out on the resolutions, but I made it pretty simple this year- I didn’t make any.
We’ll meet again soon!
