A Little Announcement

When I began this blog, I wasn’t quite sure how far I was going to go with it. Truthfully, I used it more like a Tumblr account, uploading photos that weren’t my own and not really being too creative with my posts. As I started to explore the blogging community, I was blown away by how beautiful some websites were, and I desperately wanted to be one of them. I read about hosting, advertisements, sponsoring, etc., and it all seemed so big and scary. On top of the extreme intimidation I felt, I wasn’t sure how long I was going to stick with blogging. I was really just experimenting and didn’t want to waste a bunch of time and money on something that I was going to grow bored with in a few months. After awhile, though, I really started putting my all into posts. I wanted my photos to be my own, even if they weren’t taken on the fanciest of cameras, and I wanted this space to really reflect me and my life. I know that lots of my friends and family read this blog, so it’s a nice way to keep them updated on my whereabouts, not to mention that it’s so much fun to click on my earlier posts to see how much I’ve developed since the beginning.

My goal is to make this a business. Writing has always been my passion, and it’s the one thing I’ve never given up on. I have my bursts of inspiration, where I want to do all kinds of things, but I always come back to writing. I’m getting to the point, in my life, where I would like to earn money by doing something that I love and what I’m going to school for (almost done with that, by the way!). Considering that I love blogging so much, as a hobby, I thought, after almost three years, it might be time to upgrade. I’ve gone as far as I can go with this little website of mine, and I will soon be making the transition to a self-hosted blog, where I can make my page look the way I want, with no limits, and potentially bring in a little revenue. That’s the ultimate, anyway. I have a strong vision of what I want to happen with this baby of mine, and I hope you’ll all be patient as I figure everything out, teach myself HTML, and get things on track. It might look like amateur hour for awhile, but I’ll be proud, because it will be mine. Period.

So, there you have it! I’m sorry if this was completely unnecessary for some of you to read, but I feel like I’ll really kick myself in the booty, with this process, if I write it down. It feels like more of a commitment that way. I hope to someday roll with those big, beautiful blogs that I admire so much, and this may seem like a tiny step, but it’s a huge one, for me. Fancy That is growing up! Thanks to all of those who regularly visit this page. I can’t tell you how happy it makes me, knowing that people even care about what I have to say.

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I’ll be back soon.

xoxoxo

Thank you so much! I also hope that you find the perfect career choice. Life is too short to be stuck in a rut. We’ve got to shake it up every once in awhile! :D Best of luck to you!
